VANESSA HUDGENS TO BE ‘SUCKER PUNCHED’

Vanessa Hudgens is one of the most talented young stars we have seen in Hollywood the past few years.  We have seen her sing and dance in the High School Musical movies, and Hudgens is now ready to move forward into more adult oriented roles.  Later this year, Hudgens will star in Beastly, which is being described as a modern day Beauty And The Beast.  Next year she will star in the highly anticipated film, Sucker Punch, where she will be playing a role entirely different from that which she has ever played.  We caught up with Hudgens and asked her about her role in this film. COLIN HANKS & BRADLEY WHITFORD ARE BOTH ‘GOOD GUYS’

If you had to use one word to describe the new show, “The Good Guys,” that word would probably be “fun.”  After all, that’s the word its stars use to describe what they’re doing on the show – albeit for different reasons.  For Colin Hanks, the fun is in getting to do some wild stunts (Click on the audio player to hear Colin Hanks)

For his co-star, Bradley Whitford, it’s about playing a character who’s pretty much the exact opposite of his straight-laced “West Wing” character. (Click on the audio player to hear Bradley Whitford)

DAVID ARCHULETA: NOT THE ‘IDOL,’ BUT DEFINETLY NOT IDLE

It has been two years since David Archuleta was a runner up on American Idol, losing out to David Cook.  But unlike even those who have won American Idol, such as Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard, and other runner ups such as Justin Guarini and Bo Bice, Archuleta has found much success since he was on Idol.

We caught up with Archuleta, who told us what life has been like for him since he was on American Idol.

UNIVERSAL’S ‘WIZARDING WORLD’ GETS THUMBS-UP FROM HARRY POTTER!

Universal Studios Orlando spent more than $200 million to create a “Harry Potter” theme park experience, and when we caught up with Daniel Radcliffe at the grand opening of “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” last week, he was thoroughly impressed with the way the attraction turned out.  Radcliffe also talks about the final two-part installment of the movie series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” which recently wrapped filming.  The first part will be released on November 19.

THOSE ‘LITTLE FOCKERS’ ARE BACK

The Fockers are back!   That’s right everyone, get ready for the third installment of the “Meet The Parents” movies.  Ben Stiller, Robert Deniro and the rest of the cast are back for another visit.  Barbra Streisand is also returning.   Missing from the trailer is Dustin Hoffman, who with Streisand, stole the show in Meet The Fockers.   But since Hoffman is listed in the credits, we are not worried, and fully expect to see him in the film as well.

New cast members joining the movie are Jessica Alba and Harvey Keitel, which should add to the laughter.

Little Fockers will be in theatres December 22nd.  Are you looking forward to seeing Little Fockers? Let us know!

TARAJI P. HENSON’S ADVENTURES IN CHINA

Taraji P. Henson currently stars as Jaden Smith’s mother in the remake of The Karate Kid. Filming took place in China. Sometimes when movies film on location, the cast and crew take advantage and become tourists during their breaks from filming.  Filming in China must be an experience of a lifetime, so we asked Henson what she learned about China during her time there. THE WEEKEND BOX OFFICE A PLAYGROUND OF ‘TOYS’

For the second week in a row, Toy Story 3 is #1 at the box office. Toy Story 3 grossed $59,000,000 over the weekend. Toy Story 3 has a lot going for it.  The film received great reviews, and people of all ages have really enjoyed this franchise. Toy Story 3 should stay near the top of the box office for the next few weeks, and could very well be one of the top earning movies of all time.

The Adam Sandler slapstick comedy, Grown Ups, came in at #2 taking in $41,000,000. The comedy, which co-stars some of Sandler’s former cast mates from Saturday Night Live, did extremely well. Before the film opened, some Hollywood insiders speculated that Sandler may have lost some of his box office power, which at one time he had with successful films such as The Wedding Singer, Big Daddy, and Happy Gilmore.  However, Sandler has proved that all those talking about his demise are just plain wrong.

The Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz action movie, Knight & Day, took third place taking in over $20,500,000 over the weekend. The film opened on Wednesday with midnight screenings. The film has earned a total of $27,789,000. While there has been talk that Tom Cruise can no longer open a movie, such is just not true.  Knight & Day opened on a tough weekend. There was little doubt that Toy Story 3 would dominate the weekend, and that Grown Ups would bring in the crowds.  Also, Knight & Day received mediocre reviews, which didn’t help draw in the crowds.  In our opinion, when you see Knight & Day, you know what you are getting, a fun, action packed movie which you can go see and forget about the real world for a few hours.  It’s well worth the price of admission.

Rounding out the top five was the sleeper hit of the summer, The Karate Kid at #4, which took in another $15,400,000.  In just three weeks, this film has grossed $135,641,000. This is amazing, considering the budget for the film was $40,000,000. Talks of a sequel are already being finalized.  Let’s just hope it will be better than the original Karate Kid 2.  A-Team came in at #5 taking in only $6,000,000. The film has had extremely disappointing numbers, but we think it was one of the best action movies we have seen so far this summer.  If you haven’t already done so, go see it!
