According to the British newspaper, The Sun, teen pop sensation Justin Bieber wants to remake and star in the movie, Grease, as ”Danny Zucko,” the role made famous by John Travolta in 1978. Bieber told the paper that, “it would be a lot of fun. It’s been talked about a lot over the years, but it would be awesome to play Danny.” When asked who Bieber would choose to play Olivia Newton John’s character, “Sandy”, Beiber stated, “I would go for Miley Cyrus without hesitation. She can sing, dance and act.” He also has the perfect person in mind to play “Principal McGee,” stating, “wouldn’t Susan Boyle make an amazing Principal McGee?”
Truth be told, no one should be trying to remake a musical classic like Grease, let alone a kid who was born nearly 20 years after its release! Is he serious? Are you buying this? Would anyone actually go see it? Next thing you know, Bieber will be trying to remake the classic, Singing In The Rain. Hey, if he thinks he can take on John Travolta, why not Gene Kelly too?
Here’s hoping that Bieber is not seriously considering such a fiasco and has only suggested this travesty of cinema because he is sick with Bieber Fever!

Kudos to George Clooney for all of his hard work. This award is well deserved and could not have gone to a nicer guy. We remember when Clooney first started out on television with supporting roles on Facts of Life and Roseanne, and when he finally made it big on E.R. Over the years, in all of our interactions with him, he has been a fun, humble guy, and hasn’t changed a bit since becoming one of the biggest movies stars in the world.

It was a relatively quiet weekend at the box office. The Last Exorcism earned the #1 spot, taking in $21.3 million. This is an amazing sum, considering it only cost $1.8 million to make the movie. Despite its suggestive title, most who saw the movie didn’t find it scary.
The cops and robbers movie, Takers, staring Hayden Christensen, Matt Dillon,Chris Brown and T.I came in at #2 earning $21 million. Despite getting mostly negative reviews, the movie did very well. Will Takers revive the cops and robbers genre? Stay tuned.
After two consecutive weeks in the #1 spot, Sylvester Stallone’s action packed movie, The Expendables, was #3 this weekend earning $9.5 million. This movie has unexpectedly done so well that talks of a sequel are already in the works. Leave it to Stallone, who can still bring in the crowds! Stallone has made six Rocky movies, and four Rambo movies. We’ve also heard rumors of a Rambo prequel.
Eat, Pray, Love starring Julia Roberts came in at #4 this weekend grossing $7 million. Hollywood box office experts have been calling the film a bust and Julia Roberts (who was once the queen of the box office) a “has been”. Yet, the film is still making money. It’s true that Roberts’ movies no longer earn nearly what they once did, but Eat, Pray, Love proves that she still has a loyal following and can still deliver strong performances.
Coming in at #5 was the buddy cop movie, The Other Guys, starring Mark Walberg and Will Ferrell, earning another $6.6 million. The film has been in theatres for a month, and people keep returning to see it for repeated laughs. We won’t be surprised to see a sequel of this film in the near future!
