CLAY AIKEN HONORED TO BE COMPARED TO ELTON JOHN

And True”, and recently wrapped his summer tour with his buddy, American Idol winner Ruben Studdard.

Aiken is taking some time off before he goes back on tour in early 2011.  However, you can bet that he is already thinking about his next album.  Ever since he competed on American Idol, Aiken has sang songs from many different musical genres, from pop songs, to the good old standard songs.  We caught up with Aiken who told us that Elton John was a major  influence on him.  (Click on the audio player to hear Clay Aiken)

Clay Aiken has an amazing voice. He is very talented. His latest tour this summer was a combination of fabulous music and great entertainment. Clay puts on a great concert.

I also enjoyed watching his PBS Special. Clay’s voice was backed by talented musicians.

Thanks for this great mention about Clay.

He sure deserves some time off, but I can hardly wait for his new tour to start. Clay Aiken in concert puts on one heck of a show!!

Thanks for posting about Clay. I’m excited about the new tour in 2011 and already have my tickets. Clay is a charismatic performer who never fails to deliver an awesome show.

So great to hear that he’s already thinking about his next album. All of his albums have been fantastic and I’m really looking forward to whatever he does next. He has a once in a lifetime voice.

Clay did Elton proud with Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me on Wildcard night. I’ve never heard it sung any better. I have always wished Clay would add that to a concert or even record it.

Clay Aiken has sang a few of Elton John’s songs and it was simply beautiful.

I would love to hear Clay sing more of Elton’s music. He has the power vocals to do justice to the classic Elton John songs.

Clay is a gentleman always and gives credit to his friends, colleagues, and people like Elton, who are superstars. Cannot wait to see Clay in concert.

I hope Clay is enjoying his rest. Like Pat says…he really does put on a great show… As far as Clay singing…he can actually sing anything…any genre… I loved him singing “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me”, and would love to hear other Elton songs as well… Bring it on Clay!!!!

Clay Aiken “live” is amazing and his voice is one of the best I have ever heard. I was lucky enough to attend one of the shows Clay and Ruben did this summer and they are quite the comedic team and great singers…the show just wasn’t long enough. I can’t wait for Clay’s TNT tour in the New Year. All the best Clay…have a good rest…but keep that music coming!

Good choice Clay. What a voice you have, and you both are very kindhearted.

Clay is one of the best entertainers today and definitely one of the best voices. The man can sing anything and he kills everytime. No one should miss this man in concert he is amazing and addictive.

I think Clay is a terrific entertainer in his own right, but this is a great comparison. At his concerts, the entertainment is all-around the spectrum; great music, comedy, storytelling and much more.

I love Elton, he is an amazing musician songwriter and superstar, but Clays voice just blows me away, nobody sings like Clay, his voice is just wonderful . Mega Voice WOW

I can’t wait for the tour next year! I’m also looking forward to seeing where Clay goes with the next cd. He has such talent he really can sing anything, I love Elton John also so Clay would do well to follow in his footsteps.

I loved the PBS special and have saved it on my DVR. Just bought the CD and have tickets for Clay’s February concert. Have been a fan from the beginning of American Idol.

Loved Clay’s rendition of Elton’s song. He should record some of Elton’s songs because the lyrics and melodies are really great and Clay does them so well. I say this even though I would hope that Clay’s next CD is original music. Maybe Elton could write something for him?????

Clay is such a dynamic entertainer. I went to his Timeless Tour with Ruben this Summer and I never had so much fun. They were hillarious! They had a lot of upbeat songs on there and it was so enjoyable. Cannot wait to go to his Tried and True Concerts. I am going to the one in Orlando in February.

I agree with all the above posts!! Clay’s voice is like none other! It has been said that Clay could sing the ‘phone book’ and if he did, he would knock it out of the park!! Comparing him to Elton John is just wonderful.. and Clay can do justice to his songs..that is for sure!! I agree..seeing Clay “LIVE” is so addictive…you just can’t see one concert!! Saw two Timeless concerts and am planning on at least two of the Tried and True concerts!! Like I’ve always said..”Idol Found..Game Over!!!!!”

Just info or reminder: Clay recorded Elton’s “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word” on his 2006 album “A Thousand Different Ways”. He also performed it live in each of his 2007 Soft Rock/Hard Place concert venues. It is a marvelous rendition.

The youtube address below should bring it up for you. If it does not, go to YouTube and type in the second line below. That will bring up the video of that song being performed at the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando on 8/19/07
