DAVID DUCHOVNY CONFIRMS NEW X-FILES SCRIPT

Will our favorite FBI agents, Mulder and Scully, be returning to the big screen? It sounds like a third X-Files film may be in the works according to TVMag.com. When David Duchovny was interviewed by the french entertainment site, he told them, ”It i being written. One awaits just the green light from Fox, a little disappointed from the relatively poor reception of the second film. The error comes, in my opinion, that the authors strayed too far from the roots of the series. Moreover, the film was released in the summer. The third will be much closer to what the public expects, with government conspiracies, etc.

As most people know, X-Files began as a television series on FOX, which ran from 1993-2003. The series is considered to be one of the greatest Sci-Fi shows in television history. The show was turned into a movie in 1998 and received positive reviews. Then in 2008, the long awaited sequel entitled X-Files: I Want To Believe, was released to mixed reviews. X-Files fans seemed extremely disappointed with the film, which was considered a box office bomb.

Yes, I would very much like another X-files movie. The franchise is very viabie, expecially if the scripts are well written, the movies are well marketed, and the Milder/Scully dynamic is there. Both actors are excepitonal and are a pleasure to watch.

The fans never cared about what happened in XF2, the show is still for the fans – hit or miss!!! The story needs closure through XF3. Then, this could lead to its return to the TV Screen, be it having a new lineup as long as Mulder and Scully makes an appearance on it. In this age, special effects are really good and X-Files back for a tenth season or a spin-off is very timely!

A DEFINATE YES for XF3 please!

I agree, for a lot of people IWTB was not what they were waiting for or expecting at the time. I think most (uncluding myself) were in need of a continuation of the mythology storyline as it remained open towards the end of the series and a lot of questions were still left hanging.

HOWEVER… I also want to emphasize that I was very happy to see M&S again and to be honest, every time I watch IWTB on DvD now I find it getting better and better. Not just the M&S interaction and their storyline, but also the ‘X-File’ (however bizar it was ). I’m not saying IWTB didn’t have its flaws or missed opportunities, but I find it to be a lot better after multiple viewings that the initial first time I watched it.

That being said I really can’t wait for XF3. I am waiting for the colonization to be played out. XF3 must be about dec 22 2012! About Williams role in the big scheme of things and his parents.

What I am not sure of myself is whether I want it to be a full out alien invasion in which the general public is actually aware of what is happening OR if it should be a battle fought (mostly) away from the public eye (as was often the case in the series). There is something to be said for either option, but if its going to be full out open war I think the writers must be very cautious for it not to be about the special effects alone. I wouldn’t want it to be just another 2012 doomsday ‘end of the world’ special effects blow out where the end of the movie is ultimately unfulfilling and feel forced into a happy end. Then again I want our heroes to remain the heroes too. I guess it’s a good thing I don’t have to write it.

We need XF3 and as many more XF films as DD,GA and CC are willing to make. A TV special is actually another great idea. How cool would it be to see Mulder and Scully on TV again???

My mom always watched it with me since I was a baby ’cause I was born in 1995
And now, 15 years later, I’m still watching it AGAIN AND AGAIN!
Please FOX, make a third movie!!

Absolutely X-Files 3 – bring back Doggett and Reyes too – bring em all back for a manifesto. I think a third one would do better than all of them due to the 2012 factor and just the way the world is right now.

X-Files 3 could possibly be the chance for all those who were too young in the actual age of the show to get a chance to see one of the best television/film franchises on the big screen. personally, i was born the year the show came out, and knew nothing of it until 2008 when i want to believe came out. even then it was of no interest to me, until this past year. i began watching the show, and quickly became intrigued by the fact that this show was willing to do a no-holds-barred outlook. things that we’re too afraid to mention in everyday life, too afraid to bring up, are looked at in this show, touched upon in some way or another. whether a person is a scully or a mulder, this show holds something for everybody, and i think bringing it to a resolution, knowing what’s happened with everybody and everything, would be the smartest move Fox could make. so here i say, please give this the green light. don’t let i want to believe, quite literally a box office bomb, be the end to something so great. so thumbs up to green light!

I want another movie and also another season of X Files with Gillian and David, this duo make the X Files Franchises a winner. When the X Files TV show end, my heart was broken. Fringe is good but not as good as X Files. Other shows try very hard to imitate the X Files TV show, but the X Files has magic.

I think they should make an XF every five years until Scully and Mulder are old and dying together. They are great and I love seeing them together. Running around with their flashlights screaming “SCULLY!!!!!…..Mulder?” – gotta keep it alive.
