YOU CAN’T PUT A ‘PRICE TAG’ ON JESSIE J’S LOVE OF MUSIC
Jessie J’s debut album, “Who You Are,” came out today…yet it’s been buzzin’ since the release of her first single, “Price Tag,” featuring B.o.B.! Jessie J’s been doing music all her life. She started out doing musical theatre at a very young age, which inspired her hunger for making her hobby of singing her career. She even gave dance school a shot. She eventually joined a girl group, which is where she got discovered. No time was wasted, she was touring with artists like Taio Cruz, Macy Gray and Chris Brown. According to Jessie J, the best thing about it was how naive she was about the whole experience. She didn’t realize how big of a deal it really was. It really helped her confidence to be prepared in any type of situation that may go down on stage, she shared one example in particular. The day she got booed on stage in Paris because she wasn’t Chris Brown, who she happened to be opening for that day. Instead of getting down and out about it, guess what the brave Jessie J did? She booed the crowd back! She told them, “I’m only here for about 10 minutes, guys! So just…if you like it, scream If you don’t, boo me. But, I’ll boo back as loud as you.” She made the crowd laugh and right then and there, they fell in love with her. The trick, according to Jessie J, is to believe in yourself and be confident. Her confidence truly shines on her first single, “Price Tag,” which she expresses has lots of depth to it. (Click on audio player to hear Jessie J)
