After dominating the radio business for over 30 years, Howard Stern really has nothing to prove. Signing up as a judge on the NBC reality series America’s Got Talent should be a welcome challenge for Stern, and his biting humor and candor should add an extra dimension to the show. Stern believes he’s a good fit for America’s Got Talent, and the radio icon has nothing but praise for host Nick Cannon and his fellow judges Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne.
Director Joss Whedon has exceeded expectations with the monumental success of The Avengers, and one of his best decisions was to pick Mark Ruffalo to play tortured scientist Bruce Banner (aka the Hulk). Although the two Hulk movies featured Eric Bana and Ed Norton in the lead roles, Marvel wanted to go a different direction with The Avengers, and Whedon claims Ruffalo was always his first choice. Michael Fassbender, whose big budget summer fare experience began last year with X-Men: Origins, teams up with Charlize Theron and director Ridley Scott for the highly awaited sci-fi flick Prometheus. Working with Theron was a great experience for Fassbender, as he admits that he’s a big admirer of her work.
Prometheus, co-starring Idris Elba and Noomi Rapace, opens in theaters June 8th.
Nancy Cartwright’s acting journey started at an early age, but her career took a profound turn when she landed the role as the voice of Bart Simpson on The Simpsons. Cartwright, who has always loved making people laugh, says she was encouraged at an early age to do voiceover work thanks to her unique voice, and for 23 seasons Cartwright has been a huge part of The Simpsons’ success. Singer Rihanna is getting good word of mouth for her co-starring role in Battleship, a blockbuster summer flick which opens in theaters May 18th. Opening Friday, Dark Shadows is the eighth collaboration from director Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. It’s a partnership that goes back to Edward Scissorhands, and their mutual affection for offbeat figures and creatures that go bump in the night has yielded such first rate work as Ed Wood and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. After playing the acerbic and talented Dr. Gregory House for eight seasons, Hugh Laurie wraps up his part with the shows series finale on May 21st. Although he had a solid acting career before taking on House, Laurie understands audiences and maybe even filmmakers will have a hard time seeing the actor in any other type of role. Still, Laurie remains grateful for his House experience.

Along with his good friend Tom Cruise, Smith is one of those rare actors who can generate a strong box office weekend on his name alone. The actor, who is also a veteran producer, learned the importance of generating an international audience after listening to advice from Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
