Selena Gomez has been acting since she was 10 years old. Now at the age of 18, Gomez is one of the most famous young stars in the world. Gomez made a name for herself starring in the Disney Channel hit, Wizards of Waverly Place. Gomez also has a blooming film career, having starred in Ramona and Beezus and the new teen movie, Monte Carlo, where she co-stars with Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester and Glee’s Cory Monteith. Monte Carlo opens in theatres this Friday.

Gomez has recently been the subject of all the gossip web sites and magazines, due to her personal relationship with music star Justin Bieber. Despite the intrusion into her personal life, Gomez has handled fame well. Even with all of the attention she is receiving, Gomez tells us that she is the same girl she was before fame, and all the press she is getting comes with fame.
Since “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” was the movie that made Jim Carrey a bona fide star, it only makes sense that he’d return to the animal kingdom for another movie eventually. Well, that time is now. “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” opens on Friday in theaters everywhere, and we sat down with Carrey to finout how excited he was to work with not only the penguins, but also screen legend Angela Lansbury. Take a look at the interview, along with a few fun scenes from the movie, and let us know if you’re excited to see Carrey return to his roots.

The Fast Five dominated the weekend box office taking in $83.6 million. This is the biggest opening of any film so far this year. Universal Pictures, the studio which released the film, is likely breathing a sigh of relief having a bona fide breakaway hit, after having a few years of box office duds. The studio was so sure that Fast Five was going to be successful, that another sequel, Fast Six, is already in the works.

Rio, the musical animated hit, was #2 at the box office, taking in another $14.4 million. This brings its total to $103.6 million in its third week of release.

Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family, which was in the second spot at the box office last weekend, dropped to #3 this week earning $10.1 million. Perry is already at work on his next film, Good Deeds, which will be released in 2012.

Rounding out the top five movies were the romantic drama, Water For Elephants, starring Robert Pattinson and Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon at #4 earning $9.1 million, and at #5 was the Disney teen flick, Prom, pulling in $5.0 million.

When we spoke with Pattinson, he talked about working with his other co-star, Rosie the elephant; how he’s feeling more comfortable as an actor; and how he will look back at the “Twilight” movies now that “Breaking Dawn” is almost ready to wrap. Take a look at the video, and let us know if you’re looking forward to seeing Pattinson in “Water For Elephants.”

In much the same way “The Lion King” used African rhythms to make its soundtrack stand out, the makers of the new animated film “Rio” wanted to give the movie’s music a Brazilian feel. After all, it is set in Rio de Janeiro, right? So they hired Brazilian music legend Sergio Mendes as executive music producer, and under his direction, they assembled a team of musicians to give the movie a signature sound.

In casting the Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am and Jamie Foxx as feathered friends in the movie, they also created a potent musical duo — the two of them collaborated on the movie’s musical centerpiece, a sizzling Samba-influenced track called “Hot Wings.”

Fox All Access producer Jeff Axelrod traveled to Rio to talk to some of the musicians behind “Rio’s” hot soundtrack, including Mendes, Foxx, Will.I.Am, and Taio Cruz, who wrote and performed a new song for the movie, “Telling The World.”

In his new movie, Martin Lawrence figures to be bigger than ever — literally! Yes, Big Momma is back, and he’s got company in “Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son.” Because not only is Lawrence’s FBI agent back to posing as a woman, so is his stepson as they go undercover at an all-girls school to try and catch a killer. When Fox All Access talked to the two stars, Lawrence told us about how much easier it was to film this installment of the “Big Momma” series, while Brandon T. Jackson spoke of the admiration he had, following in the famous, high-heeled footsteps of Dustin Hoffman’s “Tootsie” and Robin Williams’ “Mrs. Doubtfire.” “Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son” opens in theaters everywhere on Friday.

The top five films at the box office this weekend were exactly the same as last weekend. Little Fockers was still the #1 movie, earning $26.3 million over the New Years holiday weekend. Little Fockers has now earned $103.2 million in North America, making it the second movie released in 2010 by Universal Pictures (who had another poor year) to gross over $100 million. Universal’s “Despicable Me” was the other film to gross over $100 million.

The Coen Brothers remake of True Grit came in at #2 earning $86.8 million. The film has received fantastic reviews and you can count on Oscar nominations for the filmmakers and actors, especially for 14 year old newbie, Hailee Steinfeld, who gave one of the best performances we’ve seen in 2010.

Tron Legacy came in at #3 grossing $18.3 million. So far, the film has earned $130.9 million domestically, and worldwide, it has made $196,354,000. The budget for the film was $170 million, so the film has more than earned its money back. Maybe the sequel talks for a third Tron movie will heat up.

Rounding out the top five were Yogi Bear pulling in $66.1 million at #4, and at #5 was The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader earning $10.5 million.

Little Fockers, the third and hopefully last film in the Meet The Parents franchise, was the #1 movie at the box office over the holiday weekend. The film grossed $34,016,000, bringing its total to $48,302,000 since its opening on December 22nd. Most Hollywood insiders expected the film to earn much more than it did, given that the second film, Meet The Fockers, which opened in 2004 at the exact same time, earned $46,120,980 in its opening weekend. Over the five day Christmas holiday weekend, it earned $70,517,720, a far cry from the sum earned by Little Fockers. The Little Fockers production budget was $100 million, $20 million more than the Meet The Fockers budget. Universal Pictures is undoubtedly disappointed this weekend!

True Grit, the Coen Brothers remake of the 1969 John Wayne film starring Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin, Matt Damon, and Hailee Steinfeld came in at #2 this weekend grossing $25,600,000. These numbers are impressive considering this is not a mainstream movie for all audiences. The film received great reviews, so even though the Golden Globes overlooked the movie, you can count on Academy Award nominations for the film and especially for newbie, Hailee Steinfeld, who gives a phenomenal performance. True Grit also marks the biggest opening for a Coen Brothers movie thus far.

Last week’s #1 movie, Tron: Legacy, slipped to #3 grossing $20,107,000. The Sequel to the 1982 film has now earned $88,296,000 domestically. There are rumblings of a possible third Tron movie in the works.

Rounding out the top five films at the box office are two family movies, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader at #4 taking in $10,800,000, and coming in at #5 was Yogi Bear, taking in $8,800,000.
