With a nation that’s been wrecked with floods and tornadoes on top of a battered economy, one could argue how the need for some healing and hope played into America’s willingness to open their arms to the Country music genre on Idol. We caught up with Country Music star/actor Tim McGraw this past week and asked him what it was about Country Music that’s speaking to America. Check it out:

Jack Black & Casey Abrams knocked it out of the ballpark when they sang Queen’s, ”Fat Bottomed Girls.” What a hilarious performance! These two are definitely brothers from another mother. We covered the red carpet as the stars poured into the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Wednesday night. Everyone from Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Gordon Ramsay and Mary Murphy stopped by to say hello. Although, our favorite part of the red carpet experience was when we were in the middle of interviewing Jack Black when all of a sudden, Casey Abrams decides to surprise him.
What a year it has been for Lauren Alaina. She finished as runner up to Scotty McCreery in the American Idol finale, beating out thousands of contestants to get to the top in this competition. Backstage after the finale, Fox All Access producer Robin Whitaker spoke to Alaina, who was honored to sing with country music star and former Idol winner, Carrie Underwood. Alaina then went on to thank her fans, and dished on Scotty McCreery. Check out the video!

What a night it was on Part 1 of the American Idol finale. Before the show, Idol finalist Lauren Alaina had voice problems and didn’t know if she would be able to perform. But Alaina came out like a trooper and performed beautifully, as did Scotty McCreery.

She has made it to the finals, and will face off tomorrow night against Scotty McCreery to see who will be the next American Idol.
