‘BONES’ PREVIEW: WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE FINALE

It’s a big night for “Bones” fans, as the show concludes its seventh season with what promises to be one of its most exciting, intriguing episodes ever.

Remember Christopher Pelant? He’s the serial killer who was introduced on the show in an episode back in January. Not only is he evil, he’s also brilliant — he managed to take down the Jeffersonian’s most prized piece of equipment, the Angelatron, by encoding a victim’s bone with a computer virus.

And in the season finale, he’s back. Which, as TJ Thyne told us, has the entire crew on edge. (Click on the media player to hear TJ Thyne.)

What does Pelant do that’s so extraordinary? As you may have seen in the episode’s teasers, he manages to make it appear that Brennan herself is guilty of murder!

It’s a chilling end to what has generally been one of the most upbeat seasons ever for Thyne’s “Bones” character, Dr. Jack Hodgins.

EMILY DESCHANEL OPEN TO A ‘NEW’ GIG WITH ZOOEY

Emily and Zooey Deschanel are very close these days. And not just as sisters — they’re both working on shows that are based on the 20th Century Fox lot in Los Angeles, just a few hundred feet away from each other. Emily, of course, has been starring on “Bones” for seven years, while Zooey has just finished up her first season of “New Girl.” Zooey made an appearance on “Bones” a few years ago, guest-starring as the cousin of Emily’s character. So now that Zooey’s got a show of her own, would Emily be interested in returning the favor? She told us they’ve talked about it.

Watch Emily Deschanel on a new episode of “Bones,” Monday night at 8/7c, and Zooey Deschanel on the season final of “New Girl,” Tuesday night at 9/8c, both on Fox.

‘BONES’ SEASON 7 ‘STRANGE’ BUT A ‘HOME RUN’ FOR CAST

With three episodes remaining (including an all-new episode tonight), Season 7 of “Bones” will soon be coming to an end. Because of Emily Deschanel’s maternity leave, it became the show’s second “mini-season” (only 15 episodes were filmed for the strike-shortened third season).

When Fox All Access spoke to TJ Thyne, who plays Dr. Jack Hodgins on the show, he admitted that filming only 13 episodes — with a large break in the middle — made this an odd year for the show.

However, he also describes it as a year in which the show was in a great creative groove, and he says the atmosphere on the set was an extremely happy one. (Click on the audio player to hear TJ Thyne.)

EMILY DESCHANEL: ‘BONES’ BABY CHANGES ARE EXCITING

Last Monday night, Fox’s hit “Bones” added another 300 bones to its cast: Booth and Brennan’s new baby! (Yes, as Brennan could tell you, although an adult human has 206 bones, babies are born with 300, some of which fuse together as the child grows.) Ever since they found out that Booth and Brennan were expecting, the show’s fans have been anxiously anticipating the blessed event, and wondering how the child will change the dynamic between the characters. Emily Deschanel thinks the baby is a welcome addition to the show. She finds it refreshing that, after seven and a half seasons, Brennan now faces a challenge she’s never dealt with before — and, as a new mother herself, she knows a lot of the show’s fans will be able to relate to what it’s like to be a new parent.

“Bones” airs Monday nights at 8/7c on FOX.

‘BONES’ IS BACK! WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM NEW EPS?

At long last, “Bones” is back from its break!

Happily for Emily Deschanel, but unhappily for fans, the star’s maternity leave left a nearly three-month gap between new episodes. However, the show’s now coming back in a big way.

Not only is the show moving to Mondays (starting tonight), but it will be airing brand-new episodes for seven weeks in a row on its new night.

When we spoke to “Bones” executive producers Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan, they told us that fans weren’t the only ones frustrated by the show’s extended absence — it was driving them crazy, too!  (Click on the media player to hear Hart Hanson & Stephen Nathan.)

What will we see over the next seven new episodes?  A brand new baby, a recurring bad guy, and murders they say are “better than ever.”  (Click on the media player to hear Hart Hanson & Stephen Nathan.)

As you’ve no doubt seen or heard, Brennan gives birth to her and Booth’s daughter in tonight’s episode.  How much will this change their relationship?  Will Booth and Brennan, with their diametrically opposed personalities, continue to clash?  Or will they have to learn to work together in harmony for the baby?  (Click on the media player to hear Hart Hanson & Stephen Nathan.)

Watch tonight as “Bones” returns for the first of seven consecutive new episodes, at 8/7c on Fox.

‘BONES’ AFTER 8TH SEASON… HOW LONG CAN IT LAST?

It’s a great week for “Bones” fans.

Not only does the show return from an extended break on Monday night, but it was announced yesterday that “Bones” has been picked up for an eighth season on Fox.

Of course, the die-hard fans would like the show to last forever — and in reruns, it very well may. But with each passing year, every series faces the question of whether this season will be its last, and “Bones” is no different.

So Fox All Access spoke with executive producers Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan to find out how long they realistically think the show could go on, and whether they’ve got a plan in place for ending the series when the time comes. (Click on the audio player to hear Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan.)

DAVID BOREANAZ: ‘BONES’ BABY BRINGS CHANGES

Usually, birth announcements go out after a baby’s born, but in this case, we can tell you that Booth and Brennan’s baby girl will definitely be born on Monday night., as “Bones” moves to a new night and time.  The newest addition to the Jeffersonian crew’s extended family — no doubt inspired by Emily Deschanel’s real-life pregnancy — will certainly shake things up a bit, as her parents try to balance raising a new baby with their crime-solving activities.  When we spoke to David Boreanaz, he told us the baby will definitely affect the dynamic between the “Bones” characters in new and interesting ways.

“Bones” returns to Fox this Monday night at 8/7c.

‘FINDER’S’ KEEPERS: MEET THE NEW GIRLS OF ‘THE FINDER’

Things get lost sometimes, and when they do, they need a finder.  And that’s exactly what Fox has got.  Last spring, “Bones” introduced us to Walter Sherman, a war vet who, after suffering a head injury, discovered he had an amazing — albeit eccentric — knack for finding those lost things.

Now, “The Finder” is a series of its own, and in last week’s premiere episode, we were introduced to Mercedes Masohn and Maddie Hasson.  Mahson’s character, Isabel Zambada, is a U.S. Marshal who often needs Sherman’s help.  Hasson plays Willa Monday, a conniving teen who’s lost her way and needs help finding herself.

Fox All Access host Chris Leary met up with the two ladies on the red carpet to talk about “The Finder,” Sherman’s amazing gift, and some other secrets viewers might find as they watch the show.

An all-new episode of “The Finder” airs this Thursday night on Fox, so after you find out who’s going to Hollywood on “American Idol,” stick around to see what this bunch needs to find.
