Andy Grammer is getting ready to release his ”Live From L.A.” EP on March 13 which will be available exclusively on iTunes. All the songs on the EP were recorded in front of a live audience back in January in Los Angeles at the infamous Village Studios. A few things to definitely look forward to off this new EP is the special duet he recorded with Colbie Caillat. The song they sang together, “Fine By Me.” Also, Andy sings a cover of Rihanna’s hit song, “We Found Love.” Andy is one talented dude!
Andy recently stopped by the Fox All Access studio to visit host Chris Leary and he was awesome enough to sing an acoustic version of “Fine by Me,” and we sure were fine with that! Make sure to hit us back up and let us know what you think of Andy’s “Live from L.A.” EP!!
Wiz Khalifa’s hit single featuring Snoop Dogg & Bruno Mars, “Young, Wild & Free,” is skyrocketing up the charts. Not too long ago, Wiz Khalifa stopped by the Fox All Access studio and part 2 of his interview is finally here! We love Wiz…what you see is definitely what you get. He is quite humble, he talks about how he likes to take care of those he’s known and loved all his life. He shares fan interaction stories and tells us the weirdest part of the body he’s ever signed an autograph. He talks about his love for Amber Rose and lists 3 of her most endearing qualities. If you don’t know Wiz…now you know!
The Wanted is a new boy band based in London. The British and Irish gents consist of Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes. It’s been quite a whirlwind these last two years. The Wanted are as surprised as we are about how quickly they crossed the pond…one minute they’re a part of a mass audition to form a new group in the UK and the next minute, they’re listening to their hit single, “Glad You Came,” on American radio stations. While on tour in the States, the guys stopped by the Fox All Access studio to introduce themselves. And boy, did it get rowdy up in here! The Wanted are not only 5 great looking guys with great accents who are extremely talented, but they are off the wall hilarious and fun! Get to know the guys and let us know who you’d vote as the comedian of the group! Cheers!

We’re going off the pop music grid to share a song and video that you need to know. The artist? Gotye. The song? “Somebody I Used To Know - featuring Kimbra”. I encountered the song by chance just once and caught the earworm infection immediately. The symptoms included uncontrollable urges to hear the song again and again followed by an obsessive desire to replay the video on YouTube. That of course led to incessant humming and a desire to paint. Obviously a few other people are having the same symptoms, which account for the 55 million plus views Gotye’s official music video has gotten on YouTube (It’s jumped almost 10 million views in the last two weeks). In fact, the song has hit such an emotional cord, its inspired YouTube covers and re-mixes here in the U.S. that have generated their own fame. So what’s the big deal? Gotye has a sound that is reminiscent of Peter Gabriel (with a dash of Phil Collins and Sting). Mix in a variety of unique instruments, and some vintage effects and you’ve got a special song that is both amazingly refreshing and ear-fectious. Then there are the lyrics. With lines like ”Told myself that you were right for me, But felt so lonely in your company”, the song is quickly becoming one of the coolest, rawest break-up songs to date. “Somebody I Used To Know” takes on another layer of emotion thanks to the addition of female counterpoint vocals, Kimbra, a successful New Zealand artist who is now making her way to the U.S. Add all the elements together, and you have a perfect storm of a song that is just plain different and something worth checking out. Take a listen and a view, and let us know what you think.
Gotye’s album “Making Mirrors” is out this week. “Somebody I Used To Know” will get its U.S. debut, when Gotye and Kimbra take the stage Wednesday night, Feb. 1, on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Gotye and Kimbra will then hit the road here in the states with a U.S. spring tour starting end of March.
Things get lost sometimes, and when they do, they need a finder. And that’s exactly what Fox has got. Last spring, “Bones” introduced us to Walter Sherman, a war vet who, after suffering a head injury, discovered he had an amazing — albeit eccentric — knack for finding those lost things.
Now, “The Finder” is a series of its own, and in last week’s premiere episode, we were introduced to Mercedes Masohn and Maddie Hasson. Mahson’s character, Isabel Zambada, is a U.S. Marshal who often needs Sherman’s help. Hasson plays Willa Monday, a conniving teen who’s lost her way and needs help finding herself.
Fox All Access host Chris Leary met up with the two ladies on the red carpet to talk about “The Finder,” Sherman’s amazing gift, and some other secrets viewers might find as they watch the show.
An all-new episode of “The Finder” airs this Thursday night on Fox, so after you find out who’s going to Hollywood on “American Idol,” stick around to see what this bunch needs to find.
The new season of American Idol will hit your TV screens this week with a special 2-night season premiere event (Wednesday and Thursday, 8PM ET/PT). FOX All Access host Chris Leary caught up with Idol judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler to talk about the new season and find out what the judges are learning from this year’s crop of contestants. As far as the other singing competition shows out there? Randy Jackson compares Idol to Picasso, saying “It’s copied, but never duplicated.” Check out the below, and find out why Steven Tyler has “stones” on the brain.
So are you excited for the new season of Idol? Do you think it’s the “Picasso of its kind”? And more importantly, how long do you think it’s going to take Steven Tyler to out do last year’s set of “Steve-isms”? Catch the all new season of American Idol this Wednesday and Thursday at 8PM ET/PT on FOX.
