JANE LYNCH GOT PSYCHED ABOUT A BETTER CAREER

Before hitting it big on Glee as coach Sue Sylvester, who we all love to hate, Jane Lynch worked on first rate comedies including Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

On the TV end, Lynch also received attention for her hilarious recurring role as Charlie Harper’s therapist on Two and a Half Men, and her work in the well-received Starz comedy Party Down. Glee, however, has since been her bread and butter, as the show garnered her a Golden Globe win in 2011.  Last year, Lynch released her memoir, Happy Accidents, and she told us that it was a therapy session which served as a turning point for her career.

Catch Jane Lynch in a new episode of Glee airing tonight 8/7 central on FOX.

SNEAK ‘GLEE’-VIEW FROM DARREN CRISS & MATT BOMER

“Glee” returns from its winter break tonight, with a lot of questions to be answered: Did Quinn survive that crash? Will Rachel and Finn still tie the knot? And what about Coach Sue’s baby? We can’t tell you the answers to any of those questions – no spoilers allowed!! However, we can reveal that “White Collar’s” Matt Bomer will be guest-starring, and he made things very interesting for “Glee’s” Darren Criss.  (Click on the audio player to hear Darren Criss)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

How did Bomer feel about his guest shot?  He loved it — especially when he got to unleash his inner ’80s child, to the tune (well, tunes) of ’80s icons Duran Duran. (Click on the audio player to hear Matt Bomer)

ZAC EFRON: ‘HIGH SCHOOL’ MADE MUSICALS COOL AGAIN

Back in 2006 television shows like Glee and Smash were nowhere to be found. The Disney Channel movie High School Musical, which ignited the career of Zac Efron, brought a musical sea change in the TV landscape. The HSM franchise included two sequels, with the third film coming out theatrically.

Efron, who did not pursue a pop music career like HSM co-stars Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens, explains what the films have done to for pop culture. (Click on the audio player to hear Zac Efron)

Catch Zac Efron in his new movie The Lucky One April 20.

CHRIS COLFER TRIES ‘LIGHTNING’ THE MOOD

While Kurt Hummel’s “Glee” aspirations have him bound for Broadway, Chris Colfer’s real-life quest has him aiming for the big screen. Later this summer, we’ll be able to see “Struck By Lightning.” Not only does Colfer star in the movie — he also wrote and produced it!

The film is a comedy about a teen who, after being struck and killed by lightning, flashes back to tell the tale of how he blackmailed his fellow student into contributing to the literary magazine he was publishing.
__
Colfer told us the movie is clearly written from a teen’s perspective, and the results are unlike what you would get from teen movies scripted by older writers..

Take a look at the newly released “Struck By Lightning” trailer below and let us know what you think.

‘TEENAGE DAUGHTER’S’ HOT FOR MARK CONSUELOS

It’s gettin’ hot in here as we anticipate Mark Consuelos’ guest appearance on the season premiere of “I Hate My Teenage Daughter” in which he plays the hot Spanish teacher, of course!

The episode begins as Sophie tells Annie that she does not care about getting good grades, Annie decides to set an example by taking night classes at the local community college. Nikki joins her in a Spanish class and is surprisingly fluent as she frequently watches telenovelas.

Mark Consuelos is excited to be on the show and he told us what we can expect on Tuesday night’s episode. (Click on audio player to hear Mark Consuelos)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Mark Consuelos was born in Zaragoza, Spain to a Mexican father and an Italian mother, but the ironic part is that he doesn’t speak a lick of Spanish. (Click on audio player to hear Mark Consuelos)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

First, gorgeous Ricky Martin played a Spanish teacher on “Glee,” then Mark plays the hot Spanish teacher on “I Hate My Teenage Daughter,” so we teased him about the fact that Latin teachers everywhere have no choice but to step up their game in the looks department. (Click on audio player to hear Mark Consuelos)

MELTDOWN ON THE SET AS RICKY MARTIN JOINS ‘GLEE’

Ricky Martin is guest starring as the Spanish teacher this Tuesday night on an all-new episode of Glee. He will be playing “David Martinez” who recently became a Spanish teacher but was previously a tooth model.

The entire Glee cast was excited to have him on set. As Chris Colfer put it, “I have never seen in my three years of Glee, I have never seen a guest star walk onto set and literally you have to mop the floor of everyone that they meet, because everyone is just melting around him. Everyone, everyone…even Cory Monteith.” I guess Ricky’s good looks says it all!

So what can you look forward to? New Directions will be performing LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It,” in English & Spanish and what’s funny is that’s how Ricky Martin’s character first introduces himself to the Glee club, “Hi nice to meet you. I am sexy and I know it, and let’s dance. And I am going to tell you how to do it.” Ricky Martin was excited about performing this song in particular because he says it has a very special message, “What I loved about ‘Sexy and I Know It is me telling them how important it is to believe in yourself. And that is a message that should be out there constantly for teenagers. It is about self-esteem, it is about dignity.” You can also expect to see Matthew Morrison’s character, Will Schuester, performing in a full Matador outfit – Ole! We recently caught up with Harry Shum Jr. to talk about Ricky Martin and what it was like to have him on set. Harry also gave his thoughts on Ricky’s infamous dance moves. He wouldn’t even dare to attempt a dance-off!

Make sure to catch “The Spanish Teacher” Glee episode on Tuesday night, February 7th, at 8/7 Central on FOX!
