Now that “House” has — figuratively and literally — ridden off into the sunset, all we’re left with are memories of those 177 episodes.

And for the cast, well, it’s pretty much the same. Except their memories are more about making the show than watching the show.

After it was all over, after “cut!” had been called on the set for the final time, we caught up with the cast on the red carpet of the show’s wrap party.

So which memories will Hugh Laurie, Omar Epps, Robert Sean Leonard, Peter Jacobson, Odette Annable, Amber Tamblyn, and creator David Shore treasure most? Can they pick just one? Watch the video and find out.

With mere hours to go before the series finale airs, “House” fans are preparing to say goodbye to a show they’ve loved for the past eight years.

The show’s creator, David Shore, has maintained that he never wanted the finale to stray too far from the previous 176 episodes, so will we get a definite sense of closure?

Nobody’s giving away any spoilers, but according to cast members, we can expect a “fulfilling,” “entertaining,” and “House-ian” finish to the show.

When Fox All Access producer Jeff Axelrod went to the “House” wrap party, we spoke to Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Peter Jacobson, Odette Annable, special guest Amber Tamblyn, and Shore (who directed the closing episode) about the finale and about saying goodbye to the show after eight seasons.

The “House” series finale begins tonight at 8/7c on Fox.

It’s a sad, sad thing to see. Here at the Fox lot, the oversized doors of Stage 15 were usually closed, with a security guard often stationed outside, helping keep safe the secrets of the institution that existed within: Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

But for the last few weeks, the doors have been open. Piece by piece, door by door, wall by wall, crews have been dismantling PPTH.

And now it is gone.

Just an empty soundstage remains… for now, at least. Soon, sets for a new project will be constructed within those walls, and the Hollywood circle of life goes on. “House” creator/executive producer David Shore is all too aware of that. He recalls how cool it seemed at the time when, back in the show’s second year, construction crews started creating what would become the exterior to Dr. House’s home.

Until he realized that the facade being torn down was the entrance to “NYPD Blue’s” 15th precinct. “I loved that show,” Shore told us. “And I just realized, well, that’s the future. That’s the nature of it. There’s not a lot of sentiment.”

Being just days away from the show’s finale, it’s certainly a time for “House” fans to get a little sentimental. One of the most popular TV dramas of the past decade, its loss gives fans plenty to mourn — no more House, no more Wilson, no more Foreman or Chase or Taub, no more of the dialogue that was written so expertly and performed so brilliantly, no more of the “a-ha” moments that often signaled House’s break in the case, no more of the music-backed montages that captured an episode’s emotions so perfectly.

With that in mind, we spoke with Shore about the end of “House” — and its beginning.

Did he have an “a-ha” moment of his own, when the seeds of the show were first planted? (Click on the media player to hear David Shore.) house – david shore web bite 2 051812

Back when the show was conceived, did Shore have its ultimate ending in mind? And does the real finale come close to what he might have envisioned? house- david shore web bite 1 051812

The annals of TV history are littered with series finales that haven’t lived up to viewers’ expectations. After all, when viewers become invested in a show, its characters take on a new life inside each viewer’s own imagination.

We all have different ideas about where we’d like those characters to wind up (Shore admits he’s had plenty of people tell him how they’d like to see the show end), and so it’s up to the show’s writers and producers to craft an ending that, well, feels right. An appropriate ending that equals — or surpasses — what we’ve come up with ourselves.

And in an age where “spoilers” has become part of our everyday TV vernacular, it’s not easy to deliver a finale that hits the right notes and packs the emotional punch that can only come with the element of surprise. Which is why Shore said he’s taken plenty of precautions to keep the ending secret until it airs — and why he’s refused to talk about anything that could be construed as a spoiler. house – david shore web bite 3 051812

The series finale of “House” begins Monday night with a special one-hour retrospective at 8/7c on Fox, followed immediately by the cryptically titled episode, “Everybody Dies.”

Do you think the show can deliver a satisfying ending? What do you think will happen? Do you have your own ideas about how you’d end things? And do you think we’ll ever see another show like “House”?

At times, it’s made us laugh; at other times, it’s made us cry. Some of us might have a heightened interest in medicine; some of us might have heightened anxiety over a symptom they share with a patient. And over the years, we’ve been teased, frustrated, fascinated, and delighted by the show.

And ultimately, we’ve been entertained.

But what about the cast members who made the show so affecting? How has being on the show changed them as actors? For the two characters at the very core of the show — House and Wilson — how have they changed over the course of these eight years? (Or have they?)

With the series finale just a few days away, Fox All Access went to the “House” set and spoke with cast members Hugh Laurie, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Peter Jacobson, Charlyne Yi, and Odette Annable.

The “House” series finale airs Monday night, with a special retrospective and the last episode, starting at 8/7c on Fox.

While it’s the cane that’s snapping in the picture on the left, it’s the doctor himself who snaps during tonight’s episode of “House.”

Even when House was driving a car into Cuddy’s living room in last year’s season finale, his demeanor was cool, calm, and collected (albeit a bit crazy).

But take a look at the promo below, and you’ll see something we don’t ordinarily see Hugh Laurie do on the show: yell!

Even more surprisingly, that’s not the only time House loses it in tonight’s episode!

We spoke with “House’s” creator and executive producer, David Shore, who acknowledged that while the character is anything but a happy-go-lucky guy, it’s rare that we see him this fired up. (Click on the media player to hear David Shore.) house – david shore web bite 051412

With the series finale just one week away, watch tonight’s penultimate episode at 9/8c on Fox.

After playing the acerbic and talented Dr. Gregory House for eight seasons, Hugh Laurie wraps up his part with the shows series finale on May 21st. Although he had a solid acting career before taking on House, Laurie understands audiences and maybe even filmmakers will have a hard time seeing the actor in any other type of role. Still, Laurie remains grateful for his House experience.

After eight great seasons of television, the FOX medical drama, House, will have its series finale on May 21. Before the series aired, Hugh Laurie wasn’t very well known in the USA. But once the show hit the small screen, it turned Laurie into a major television star, and House has always had a very loyal fan base. Even though the show has been on the air for eight seasons, it was only recently that Hugh Laurie reflected about his time on House.
Leaving the long running television show is not going to be an easy task for Laurie, who will miss the top notch stories that the series presented every week to its fans.
And often, the answers have been left deliberately murky, leaving enough grey areas to encourage viewers to use their own grey matter and draw their own conclusions.

With the series soon drawing to a close, Fox All Access visited the set of “House” and asked its stars — Hugh Laurie, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Peter Jacobson, Odette Annable, and Charlyne Yi — to tell us the one lesson about life they hope the show’s fans will take away from the series.
