‘HOUSE’ ON FIRE: THE DOCTOR LOSES HIS COOL TONIGHT

While it’s the cane that’s snapping in the picture on the left, it’s the doctor himself who snaps during tonight’s episode of “House.”

Even when House was driving a car into Cuddy’s living room in last year’s season finale, his demeanor was cool, calm, and collected (albeit a bit crazy).

But take a look at the promo below, and you’ll see something we don’t ordinarily see Hugh Laurie do on the show: yell!

Even more surprisingly, that’s not the only time House loses it in tonight’s episode!

We spoke with “House’s” creator and executive producer, David Shore, who acknowledged that while the character is anything but a happy-go-lucky guy, it’s rare that we see him this fired up.  (Click on the media player to hear David Shore.)

With the series finale just one week away, watch tonight’s penultimate episode at 9/8c on Fox.

WILL HUGH LAURIE ALWAYS BE ‘HOUSE’ TO HIS TV FANS?

After playing the acerbic and talented Dr. Gregory House for eight seasons, Hugh Laurie wraps up his part with the shows series finale on May 21st. Although he had a solid acting career before taking on House, Laurie understands audiences and maybe even filmmakers will have a hard time seeing the actor in any other type of role. Still, Laurie remains grateful for his House experience.

House airs Monday 9/8 central on FOX.

DIRECTING ‘HOUSE’ A HUGE TASK FOR HUGH LAURIE

Tonight’s episode of House marks Hugh Laurie’s second time behind the camera, and even though he is the series star, Laurie admits that directing is daunting and challenging. There are so many elements to directing, and leading a dedicated crew and making a slew of creative decisions calls for an innate multi-tasker. Even with all these responsibilities, directing, to Laurie, is simply “thrilling.”

House airs tonight 9/8 central on FOX.

HUGH LAURIE STARTS TO PACK UP ‘HOUSE’ MEMORIES

After eight great seasons of television, the FOX medical drama, House, will have its series finale on May 21. Before the series aired, Hugh Laurie wasn’t very well known in the USA.  But once the show hit the small screen, it turned Laurie into a major television star, and House has always had a very loyal fan base.  Even though the show has been on the air for eight seasons, it was only recently that Hugh Laurie reflected about his time on House. ‘HOUSE’ STARS: AND THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS…

For eight seasons, the doctors of “House” have delved into the issues of what it means to be human, raising questions about both morality and mortality.

And often, the answers have been left deliberately murky, leaving enough grey areas to encourage viewers to use their own grey matter and draw their own conclusions.

With the series soon drawing to a close, Fox All Access visited the set of “House” and asked its stars — Hugh Laurie, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Peter Jacobson, Odette Annable, and Charlyne Yi — to tell us the one lesson about life they hope the show’s fans will take away from the series.

You know, aside from “Everybody lies.”

The final six episodes of “House” air Monday nights at 9/8c on Fox.

BEING AN UNKNOWN HELPED HUGH LAURIE PLAY ‘HOUSE’

As you’ve no doubt heard, the “House” crew will hang up its scrubs this May and call it a day after eight seasons.  Hugh Laurie, who stars in the Fox medical drama, was a well-known comic actor in the UK, but he was a relative unknown in the USA, where audiences had only seen him in a handful of supporting roles.  In fact, when Laurie went in to audition, executive producer Bryan Singer had never heard of him.  However, Laurie thinks that lack of awareness worked to his advantage, because it allowed viewers to buy into the character, rather than the actor playing him.  (Click on the audio player to hear Hugh Laurie)

IN ANY LANGUAGE, HUGH LAURIE’S ‘HOUSE’ IS HUGE

Fox’s hit medical drama “House” has made Hugh Laurie a household name here in the United States.  But you may be surprised to learn that the show has aired in more than 60 countries, and it’s been a huge success worldwide.  Laurie told us he’s somewhat amazed by the overseas popularity of the series, and thinks he’s better off not knowing why.  (Click on the audio player to hear Hugh Laurie)

‘HOUSE’ THEME ALL RAPPED UP FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Hey, “House” fans!  We dug up a little something from across the pond we thought you might find interesting.

“House’s” theme song, Massive Attack’s “Teardrop,” has been reworked by several UK artists as a rap.

Not only does the new version of the song have an inspirational message, it’s also got a good cause: The BBC recruited the artists to record the single as part of its 2011 “Children In Need” campaign.

The campaign also includes a huge concert taking place Thursday night in England, featuring Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Jessie J, Snow Patrol, Michael Buble… and yes, “House’s” Hugh Laurie.

So check out the new version of “Teardrop,” and tell us what you think.

HUGH LAURIE: PEOPLE OF ALL AGES CAN RELATE TO DR. HOUSE

Dr. Gregory House is one of the most popular characters on television. For eight seasons, the doctor has made audiences both love and hate him. Hugh Laurie, who has played the character so brilliantly, thinks that House is so successful because young and old audiences can relate to the doctor that we all love and hate at the same time.
