‘TOUCH’ STARS TALK ABOUT THE DEEPENING MYSTERY

“Touch” reached a turning point in its first season last Thursday night, as one character — Arthur Teller (Danny Glover) — was lost, and another — Clea Hopkins (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) — found herself more invested than ever in finding out more about the strange goings-on that now surround her.

So this coming Thursday’s episode promises to be an interesting one, as the mystery surrounding Jake Bohm’s (David Mazouz) abilities and Teller’s death deepens even further.

Compounding the drama is Jake’s aunt (Catherine Dent), who initiates a custody battle to try and pry Jake away from his father, Martin Bohm (Kiefer Sutherland).

Fox All Access caught up with Sutherland and Mbatha-Raw at a “Touch” red carpet event in Hollywood this week, and producer Jeff Axelrod spoke to the stars about the new shifts in the series’ storyline.

All-new episodes of “Touch” air Thursday nights at 9/8c on Fox.

KIEFER SUTHERLAND COMPARES ‘TOUCH’ TO EMOTIONAL RUBIX CUBE

The first season of Touch officially kicked off last week, a couple months after FOX teased the country with the pilot back in January.  With millions tuning in to check out the second episode, there’s no doubt that America is ready for another Kiefer Sutherland helmed television show!

If you missed out on last week’s episode, here’s a little background:  Kiefer plays Martin Bohm, a man who continually tries to find a way to connect with his emotionally challenged son, Jake, a boy who doesn’t communicate at all.  It becomes quickly apparent that although Jake can’t express himself through words, he has a special talent for seeing the invisible patterns in the universe that bind people together.  As Martin begins to notice and understand his son’s unique gift, they are able to see how events will play out before they even happen.

We normally don’t sit down and notice all the tiny events that come together to affect the course of our lives — at least not before this show we didn’t!  We asked Kiefer if he was aware of the links of fate in his own life prior to filming the show.  We also asked him about how David Mazouz, who plays Jake, came to be cast in this challenging role.

Tune in to Touch on Thursdays following Idol at 9/8 C on Fox!

KIEFER SUTHERLAND’S A ‘TOUCH’-TALKIN’ GUY

Kiefer Sutherland returns to television tonight with the official world premiere of “Touch,” a new series that explores the seemingly random connections between this planet’s 7 billion inhabitants.

Sutherland stars as Martin Bohm, a man who lost his wife in the 9/11 attacks and has been raising their son Jake (David Mazouz) alone.  It hasn’t been easy, though — Jake hasn’t uttered a single word in his entire life and won’t let anybody touch him.

But what he’s just starting to realize is that his son has the unusual ability to see patterns that aren’t just coincidences — they have global implications.

Fox All Access host Chris Leary went to the set of “Touch” and spoke with Sutherland about the show and the unique way in which it’s being rolled out to an international audience to encourage fans worldwide to talk… to “touch.”

“Touch” premiere tonight at 9/8c on Fox, following “American Idol.”

11 GOING ON ’24′: DAVID MAZOUZ DISCOVERS KIEFER SUTHERLAND

Kiefer Sutherland stars in the new series “Touch,” which premieres tomorrow night on Fox. He plays the father of an 11-year-old child who’s never spoken, but whose mind is able to identify invisible threads in the universe that tie people together. The child is played by David Mazouz, who does a phenomenal job of conveying information and emotion on the show without being able to say a word.

He spoke to us, though, and told us that when he found out he might be working with Sutherland, he was determined to become more familiar with his future co-star.

‘TOUCH’ AND GO: KIEFER SUTHERLAND’S BACK ON TV

It’s been less than two years since Jack Bauer disappeared in New York City, never to be seen again (well, at least until the “24″ movie).  And Kiefer Sutherland never imagined he’d be returning to television so soon.  But, as he told Fox All Access host Chris Leary on the red carpet, opportunity works on its own schedule, and “Touch” was a show he just couldn’t pass up.

So, as you get ready to watch the special preview of “Touch” tonight, take a look a Kiefer and Chris’ conversation about the show.

‘TOUCH’: A SHOW KIEFER SUTHERLAND HAD TO DO

Last time Kiefer Sutherland did a TV show, things went pretty well, wouldn’t you say?  Eight gripping seasons of “24,” one of the best series of the 21st century so far.  After he finished, Kiefer wasn’t looking to jump back into TV… in fact, he wasn’t even planning on it – until he saw the script for “Touch.”

It’s an interesting concept… Kiefer’s playing a single father whose son has never said a word.  Instead, he “talks” through numbers, and you’ll be amazed at how things play out.

Like Kiefer said, this is a special show… watch the sneak preview of “Touch,” tomorrow night after “American Idol” on Fox.

KIEFER SUTHERLAND IS ‘TOUCHED’ THAT FANS STILL WANT MORE ‘24’

Kiefer Sutherland has been one of the most beloved actors of the last decade. Sutherland starred as the flawed hero Jack Bauer, who was called upon to save the country-and even the world – day after day on the hit the FOX series 24.

Sutherland, who is returning to television on the new FOX series Touch, told us that Jack Bauer will be back, with 24 movie scheduled to go into production in April.

With anticipation for the movie running extremely high, it’s clear that audiences want to see more of Jack Bauer. We asked Sutherland why he thinks that is.

You can get your first look of Touch during a special preview with Wednesday January 25 after American Idol. Look for the 24 movie to be released sometime 2013

‘TOUCH’ AND GO: KIEFER SUTHERLAND’S RETURN TO TV

For eight seasons, Kiefer Sutherland was one of Fox’s most famous faces, starring as counter-terrorism agent Jack Bauer on the groundbreaking Fox series “24.” After taking a year off, Sutherland’s ready to return to television — and to Fox — in the drama series “Touch.” On the new show, he’ll play a single father whose son can only communicate through mathematics and can’t be “touched.” Sutherland says he wasn’t looking specifically to return to television, but after reading the script for “Touch” and seeing so much growth potential for its characters, he couldn’t resist the opportunity to star in the series. IS KIEFER SUTHERLAND READY TO ‘TOUCH’ TELEVISION AGAIN?

Is Kiefer Sutherland returning to television? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sutherland is in talks to return to television in the new television series, “Touch”, which is a pilot written by Tim Kring, the creator of “Heroes”. The pilot would be for the FOX network, where Sutherland starred for eight seasons as Jack Bauer on the Emmy winning series “24″, and is about a father (Sutherland) who realizes that his autistic son can predict events before they happen.

Sutherland is currently on Broadway performing in the revival of ”That Championship Season”, and may not be able to make the deal happen due to his schedule.  But we hope he can make it work, as Kiefer
Sutherland fans (us included!) will surely be happy to see him back on television.

24 MOVIE NOT HAPPENING?

It looks like 24 fans might just have to wait a while for the 24 movie to hit the big screen.  According to EW.com, the film is not going to happen for now.  20th Century Fox Film has officially passed on the script, which was written by Billy Ray.  Ray has written movie thrillers including State of Play, starring Russell Crowe, and Flightplan, starring Jodie Foster.

24 executive producer, Howard Gordon, told EW.com, “As far as I know, it is in suspended animation.” But 24 fans, don’t give up hope for a 24 movie!  Gordon also said, ”There is talk about re-approaching it. I understand (director/producer) Tony Scott is meeting with Kiefer (Sutherland) to talk about ideas. People are still talking about it.”

24 ended its great eight season run last year on FOX. The show revitalized the career of Kiefer Sutherland, who went on to win many accolades including a Golden Globe win and an Emmy win for playing Jack Bauer.

FOX All Access spoke to Kiefer Sutherland at the series finale party (Check out the video below) and he told us at that time that the movie was still in the works. Should there be a 24 movie, or should we all just remember 24 for being one of the greatest television shows of the past decade? Let us know.
